Selling Trouble? 3 Easy tips that may help.

Are you having trouble selling your house?  Here are a few quick and easy tips that will tip the scales in your favor.

  • Paint, paint, paint. Fresh paint can make a world of difference in a room. If you have lots of color in your house it is a good idea to re-paint with neutral colors. Prospective buyers can be distracted by color and have a hard time picturing their things in your home.
  • Remove personal items. Family pictures and keepsakes should be taken down when trying to sell your house. These items could also make a buyer feel unable to see their own family in your house.
  • Remove the clutter. If you are still living in your house while trying to sell it, remove as much of the “extra” in your home as possible. The less that is in your home at the time of showing the easier it will be for the potential buyer to see the house itself and not focus on your furniture. Off-site storage is ideal for these items so closets and storage spaces can be viewed without clutter as well.

Pre-approval Gives Everyone Confidence

Pre-approval Gives Everyone Confidence

The benefits of buyer’s pre-approval are without question; it is good for the buyers, the sellers and the agents. It saves time, money and removes the uncertainty of knowing whether the buyer is qualified. The direct benefits include:

  •  Amount the buyer can borrow decreases as interest rates rise
  •   Looking at “Right” homes – price, size, amenities, location
  •  Find the best loan – rate, term, type
  •  Uncover credit issues early – time to cure possible problems
  •   Bargaining power – price, terms, & timing
  •  Close quicker – verifications have been made

There a big difference in sitting down with a trusted mortgage professional compared to going through calculators on a website. The cost of being pre-approved is a bargain and generally, limited to the cost of the credit report. Even if you have been pre-approved, a suggestion that can’t hurt but may help is to get a second opinion from a different lender. It will either verify that you have a good deal or you’ll discover that you can improve it. Either way, it works to your advantage. Contact me if you’d like a recommendation.

Windermere Community Service Day 2012

Windermere Community Service Day 2012

Every year Windermere closes its offices for one day to help make a positive difference in our local communities. It all started in 1984 when a handful of Windermere owners and agents came together to make repairs at a Seattle-area elementary school. Nearly three decades and more than 800,000 hours of community service later, we’ve continued this tradition through neighborhood-enhancing projects in the areas where our Windermere teams live, work, and play. After all, real estate is rooted in our communities. And an investment in our neighborhoods gives us all a better place to call home.

Past projects for Windermere Community Service Day have included cleaning, landscaping, painting and light carpentry to benefit senior citizens centers, facilities for physically and mentally challenged children and adults, public schools, low income housing and emergency shelters, among others.

This year Windermere Puyallup will be doing yard work, painting, re-building fences, and anything that is needed at the Washington Soldiers Home and Colony.  The WA Soldiers Home and Colony is located on 181 acres in the beautiful Puyallup Valley near Orting, and serve up to 183 residents needing both skilled-nursing and assisted-living care. Established in 1891, this was the first of three homes built in Washington State for Veterans.

Windermere Community Service Day 2010

Not only is Windermere Community Service Day 2010 a great opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work, it also gives us a chance to work together. We clean, landscape and repair parks, playgrounds, schools, shelters and community buildings. For Windermere Community Service Day 2010 each office selects a project that best serves its community needs.

This year Windermere Professional Partners is proud to announce we will be spending our Windermere Community Service Day 2010 by helping the DASH Center improve their studio facilities. The DASH Center is a performing arts center in Hilltop, Tacoma. It stands for Dancing, Acting, Singing, and Harmony. The DASH Center has successfully helped many kids stay out of gangs by giving them activities to do after school and on weekends. We support the DASH Center and the good work they do for the community so we want to help them by improving their facilities. For Windermere Community Service Day 2010 we will be painting, gardening, and doing any other jobs they need completed. Windermere Professional Partners is proud to help out such a great organization and is excited for Windermere Community Service Day 2010 on June 18th.
